Not what I had hoped for
It’s taken me a while to write this review (I did the course about 12 months ago now). I think because I part of me felt let down and disappointed and the other part felt embarrassed to have been influenced into this course when I could have saved money and learnt more doing a smaller, locally run class.
Overall the instructor was very knowledgeable, however unfortunately the class size was just too large to actually make it worthwhile. She also had wey to much content to cover within the time frame.
A large portion of the course was spent on cpr which I did not find beneficial as do annual basic life support for infants/children st work. I do understand that this is important to cover for most though, however feel it displaced and made the actual content I wanted covered (eg fever, febrile convulsions, falls first aid) feel rushed, incomplete and I can’t recall most of it. I also was not impressed at the quality of videos (all snippets sent in by parents on social media).

We are expecting our first child and had Tiny Hearts attended our home for Baby and Child First Aid to teach my partner and I and our immediate families the knowledge and skills that are required to keep our soon to arrive baby safe . Hands down the best thing we have done, whilst we hope not to even need to use the knowledge and tools learnt over the weekend, not only do we as parents feel confident and reassured that we have the knowledge and tools to use in a range of situations, but also confidence that our loved ones have the same information and tools when looking after or around our baby; and importantly they too feel the same.
The educator who ran our private workshop was wonderful. He was incredibly knowledgeable and engaging. To have 10 people engaged, learning and retaining information for the entire 4 hours is incredible. Four days later and everyone is still saying how much they got out of the course and how happy they are that we organised the private workshop.
For anyone thinking about it, it’s a no brainer. Book in the private course and gather your nearest and dearest. You will not regret it.

Suitable for first time parents pre-child
My husband attended the course. We have a 2yr old and a 4 month old. He has attended BLS years ago and felt a lot of this was already covered in that. He also said that having a 2yr old already we had experienced many of the scenarios already. He did take a few things from it but overall felt as though he didn't get much from it unfortunately and that the presenter just read out of the book you get so you could just do that instead of attending

Amazing course !!!!
After completing the tiny hearts first aid course I feel much more confident going into situations where I would need to use my first aid training. Gives me better understanding of situations and how I can react to make a difference rather then feel useless in those moments.
We all loved the instructor and the way she taught and explained everything in a way that was easy to understand and not over complicate anything.
I recommend this to any parents to be or parents with young babies for sure !

Amazing Course!!
This course was fantastic!!
We learnt so much and had a great time doing so! The practical side was really helpful! We learnt proper technique so we have a good idea of how hard to push when doing CPR and common first aid. We learnt some fantastic tips and had a great time with our amazing educator, Natalie. Most of us had our babies with us, all under 5 months old but this didn’t hinder us from learning anything. We finished feeling confident to use our newly acquired knowledge for when the time comes, from giving medication to back blows.
The new handbook is great, it’s full of fantastic information and some pictures to help. Definitely a book that will be used!
If you are thinking about doing this course and can get enough people I would highly recommend doing it!

Excellent First Aid course
My husband and I (32 weeks at the time) attended the baby and child first aid course in person and absolutely loved it. It was my first time attending a first aid course of any nature, let alone an infant and child specific course, and at no point did I feel overwhelmed or confused by the information provided. The information was delivered clearly, detailed yet not overwhelming, confidently and at the perfect pace.
The hands on practice really helped too. Being in a room with about 50 other people I thought we would be overlooked and not receive feedback during the hands on exercises, but Rach lead the class so well that she was able to give individual feedback, which gave us confidence.
1 week on, I still feel confident in the knowledge that I've learnt, backed up with the physical first aid book that we received on the day with further information.

Baby and Toddler half day first aid & CPR course
As a first time grandmother I attended this course with my daughter who has a six month old. Even though I had previously attended several first aid training sessions I found this one to be the easiest to follow with exceptionally well planned and professionally presented material that was especially relevant to young parents and caregivers. I found the CPR instructions particularly easy to comprehend and for the first time I now actually feel confident should I need to use it. I would highly recommend this course and think it would be such a valuable gift for new parents.
First aid course - Recommended for every parent!
My husband and I thought this was such a great informative course, gave us a lot more confidence approaching our first childs arrival on how to manage sickness and emergencies. I think every parent should do this course! Covers so much content but in a concise engaging way. Presentation & host was great, CPR training and goodie bag was awesome!

Loved the course ran by Rach on Saturday - extremely informative but also just focused on the things that we as new (and impending) parents need to know. Rach is a very engaging and entertaining speaker and perfectly balanced the serious side with some personal anecdotes. Would highly recommend for any new parents or caregivers. Great Course Feeling Confident in Emergency
Great class covering baby & child. Both my partner and I have completed CPR courses in the past but there was never a focus on infants and children. This is a great course to help us feel more confident in an emergency situation with our infant. The last topics were a little rushed and the room was too small for the amount of people but at the end of the day we walked away with a very strong overview of CPR and choking with a light overThey can't cover everything in detail in a half day course so I feel where they went deep (CPR & choking) is the right area.

Highly recommend the First Aid course. Attended the Melbourne session over the weekend and came out feeling super prepared for motherhood! This course covered so many topics that I wouldn’t have even thought to consider like poisoning and burns. Rach was a great trainer, so knowledgeable and engaging. Great to be trained by someone so passionate and who made sure everyone walked out confident in their first aid skills. Will be signing up to more courses with Tiny Hearts in the future.
Melbourne public first aid course
I attended one of the Melbourne public courses for baby first aid and loved it. We were lucky enough to have Rach as our teacher for the morning, she did an amazing job at keeping everyone engaged throughout the 4h course. Having never done first aid before, the way the course was structured was fantastic and easy to follow, not too much information overload. Plenty of time to ask questions which is also handy if all of the course information is new to you!
The take home guide to reference later is a an absolutely priceless resource which will not doubt be used as a reference at some point.
Best first aid course I’ve done
Absolutely loved this course. I’ve done a few first aid courses for my job and I find the content so overwhelming and dry for the most part. This course kept my attention the whole 4 hours and was broken down into easy to manage sections with relatable content. I now feel really confident that I would be able to help my children in an emergency and I cannot recommend this course enough.

I cannot thank Tiny Hearts enough for the wealth of knowledge and confidence I’ve received through their first aid course! This is the second time I’ve done their course and I cannot recommend it enough for any parent, parent to be or caregiver. It was absolutely amazing to see Rach and hear all her experiences and receive the tools to confidently provide first aid on an infant or child (Rach your moves to DRSABCD will forever be in my mind!). I was fortunate enough to stumble across Tiny Hearts 5 years ago and have relied on them to give me the confidence to help my 3 kids through the most stressful times. They are the reason I have been able to confidently assess my child’s health and provide the necessary first aid or escalate to 000 when needed. My first aid knowledge is as a result of their dedication to helping the wider community and I will always be grateful for the opportunity to have access to their course and their amazing products like fever buddy, medication tracker and now the newly released solids course. The Tiny Hearts first aid course is a no brainer for anyone with an infant or child within their care, it is an absolute must!
First Aid Course Was Fantastic
I would highly recommend the in person first aid course. My husband and I did it when I was 37 weeks pregnant and we both found it to be really informative, engaging and educational. The presenter was fantastic. So professional and energetic. Really kept everyone focused and attentive.
Tiny Hearts First Aid Course
I attended the Tiny Hearts First Aid Course when I was 26 weeks pregnant. I wanted to feel more secure once our baby girl was here. She is now earthside and I honestly couldn’t be more grateful for the knowledge, support and education that comes with doing one of these courses, plus following the Tiny Hearts team on social media.

Baby First Aid Course - Just book it in!
I loved attending the baby course in person. I have two children and I wish I had of attended this course before I had my first. After the informative session, I felt confident in dealing with topics that can, on the face of it, be quite scary. The presenter of the class was really passionate and he was very knowledgeable. My youngest is quite complex with her medical conditions but the presenter handled every question with ease. The take home book is a wonderful addition. I know that I can look back at the book when I need a quick refresher.
Thank you to the Tiny Hearts team. I have been following them for a while and have always wanted to do the course. My advice is to just book it. Don’t hesitate, it’s not only for your baby, it’s for you too.

An amazing boost of confidence to look after your little one/s
My boyfriend and I undertook this half day course (in Hawthorn, Melbourne) when I was six months pregnant. Everything was seamless, information flowed through the session and there was lots of hands on practise too ie resuss, epi pen, bandaging etc which we’d love to never have to use but can feel confident now should anything happen. We’d definitely do this course again to refresh ourselves before our next child and would highly recommend it to all new parents or even those Grandparents to our bubs wanting to see what’s relevant now in terms of medical scenarios in the every changing landscape.
Felt so prepared and informed
My husband and I completed the first aid course with tiny hearts and it made me feel so much more prepared and confident that I could pick up/know the signs to look for if Bub was to become sick!!!
Now stating solids with my little one it has also given me peace of mind that I know what to do!

** I actually fainted in my first attempt to complete the course at 33 weeks pregnant and the instructors and Rach were beyond amazing calling me after I had been to the hospital to check Bub to make sure we were both ok! It really meant a lot!

Loved the first aid course
I attended a baby first aid course in Sydney shortly after my baby was born… it was amazing. I learnt so much and you get access online afterwards to refresh which I have used many times. I would have loved to have the notes book you get on the course now as I did forget quite a lot. Instagram page is fabulous too. Everytime I need something I have a scroll and always find the answer - thanks guys.
P.s. waiting on the next release of the medication bag and fever buddy as missed it last time.

This training course is a must-do for any expecting parents. The courseware was fantastic - concise, informative and practical. Rachael is a subject-matter expert and facilitates the content in an engaging, professional manner. Demonstrations were clear and she took the time to monitor our progress throughout, providing tips and tricks to enhance our skills. Overall, a brilliant session with very pertinent topics - you will leave with a good baseline knowledge and enhanced confidence with managing stressful situations. Great work Tiny Hearts.
Great course with little update required
The course info is good. However, towards the end of the face to face course was rushed when would've been great to have the time to cover them. Would be easier for the book pages to be in the same order as the presentation slides! 4 hours is not enough when every few minutes someone adds inputs! It's great that we have hard copy book and have unlimited access to online course. Thanks
Ok not as good as expected
I had high hopes for the day whilst I did learn lots and walk away more confident in the first few areas of the course CPR and choking etc the last few topics were rushed over and I still feel I question myself after about the last few topics and Google about those topics. I felt like the day was a little rushed and the size of the class for 1 teacher / educator was too big … for that size would think you would need at least 2 teachers for when doing the practical CPR / choking whilst the educator said she watched over everyone I still don’t think it was enough another set of eyes helping reassure people would have been better. Especially for the price. The venue it’s self was great (could have been a little colder in the room if being really particular). Teacher was good very knowledgable and passionate! Just wished there was at least 1 more even to ask questions as she said she was there all day taught a class before and not eaten so obviously not going to get the absolute most out of the one person.

Great course - highly recommend for all first-time parents
Fantastic! Highly recommend for all new parents who want to know when it is (or isn’t!) appropriate to panic with a newborn. Hubby and I both got so much out of it and our instructor was great at explaining everything and answering any question thrown at him.
I wish I took this course sooner!
